Obituary of Ada Carol Wagner

Bedford – Ada Carol (Faris) Phipps Wagner, 89, of Bedford, died at 8:45 pm on Monday, December 18, 2017 at Stonebridge Health Campus.

Born October 25, 1928, in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Ernest L. (Tommy) and Nola A. (Root) Faris. She married Harold L. “Bud” Phipps and he preceded her in death on August 9, 1997. She later married Vic Wagner on September 23, 2000. She was a graduate of Bedford High School with the class of 1947. She had been employed at Monroe Shine & Co. and was a member of the Hillcrest Christian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Vic, of Bedford; a son, Alan Phipps (Karen), of Bedford; a daughter, Lisa C. Phipps Campbell (Robert), of Bedford; a brother, Oran L. Faris, of Frankfort, KY; a sister, Vicky Faris Judah, of Bedford; three grandchildren, Adam Phipps (Jill), of Zionsville, Audra Patrick (Marcus), of Lexington, KY, and Amanda Phipps, of Bloomington; four great-grandchildren, Emma, Micah, Amaya, and Hope; step-children, Vic Wagner (Carla), of Arkansas, Brenda Hetzler (Darrel), of Ohio, and Christi Dietrick (Jim), of Fishers; seven step-grandchildren; thirteen step great-grandchildren; three step great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Harold “Bud” Phipps; three children, Mark, Jill and Sally Phipps all in infancy; two brothers, Donald J. Faris and Dean Faris.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, December 22nd in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Charlie Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, December 21st at the Day & Carter Mortuary. The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., Hillcrest Christian Church or Bedford First Baptist Church.
