Bridget was preceded in death by her mother, June Franklin and a brother, Jon Franklin. Bridget was a devoted Christian all her life. She and Jerry were married August 29, 1959. They were childhood sweethearts and totally devoted to one another. Bridget adored her two children and was always ready to make any sacrifice for them. Also, her grandchildren whom she loved to spoil up until her illness took her mind away from them. Bridget in her illness was never able to know her great grandchildren the way she and her family would have wanted to. But, our belief is that they will someday be united with her for eternity. Bridget is already meeting her unborn grandchildren that were lost to miscarriages. We believe also that she has first of all met her Savior Jesus Christ, along with her mother, brother, grandparents and many departed friends. She has now given all who remain one more reason to make heaven our home someday. Bridget was a gifted musician and artist. She for many years played the piano in church. Bridget attended Needmore School in grades 1 thru 10; grade 11 at Oolitic School and graduated from American High School via correspondence. Bridget was a graduate of the House of James Beauty College and was a beautician until her health deteriorated. Bridget suffered from the Alzheimers disease for nearly fifteen years, most severely in the last nine years. She entered Garden Villa Nursing Facility on May 11, 2005. There are no words that are sufficient to adequately express the families gratitude to the entire staff at Garden Villa for the loving and professional care that Bridget received while a resident at that facility. We the family were treated with the utmost of respect by all of the employees at Garden Villa. Our continued thanks goes out to our extended families, friends and the many church congregations in Bedford and all of surrounding counties.
