Obituary of Fred Cornett

Williams Fred Cornett, 83, of Williams, IN, died Thursday, February 18, 2010 at the Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born February 25, 1926 in Hazard, KY, he was the son of Boyd and Mary (McLemore) Cornett. He married Nellie Williams and she survives. He retired as an explosives operator at NWSC Crane and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WW II. Survivors include his wife of fifty-eight years, Nellie; his children, Randy Cornett and wife, Rachel of Williams, Gaye Chapman of Bedford, Jan Skeen and husband Tom of Williams and Marc Cornett of Bloomington; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Sally Davies of Talladega, AL; many nieces and nephews;. He was preceded in death by his parents, three children in infancy; eight brothers and three sisters. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Monday, February 22nd in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Williams Church of Christ Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, February 21st at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
