Obituary of Joseph Robert Yaney

BedfordJoseph Robert (Bob) Yaney, 77, passed away at 4:06 P.M. Friday, May 8th at Bloomington Hospital. Born on April 15, 1932 in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of William F. Yaney and Lela (Thurman) Yaney. He retired as a welder from Brunners Engineering, was a member of the Judah Church of Christ where he was song leader for 36 years and was an Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He married Shirley Grogan on October 14, 1950 and she survives. Surviving with his wife, Shirley of Bedford, is one son: Rick Joe Yaney and his wife, Inez of Bedford, two daughters: Sherry Ann McIntosh and her husband, Doug of Bedford and Lela Renee OBannon and her husband, John of Owensburg; one step-daughter: Gaye Ann Conner of Springville; fourteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren; one niece Bonnie Kay Rudd of Montana; one nephew Buddy Yaney of Oklahoma City, OK; one sister-in-law: Erma Yaney of Oklahoma City, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and sisters. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 12th at Judah Church of Christ with Pastor Larry Ritter officiating. Burial will follow in the Judah Church of Christ Cemetery with military rites accorded at the grave by members of the American Legion Gillen Post #33. Friends may call on Monday, May 11th from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Day & Carter Mortuary and on Tuesday, May 12th from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour at the church.
