Jo Ann George, 98, of Bedford, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Cedar Creek of Washington.

Born June 22, 1928, in Lafayette, she was the daughter of John C. (J.C.) and Nola (Fields) Hensley. Jo Ann married Charlie J. George on February 14, 1953, and he passed away in 1997. She was a lifelong member of First Christian Church of Bedford, AARP, Eastern Star Bedford Lodge #129, Dunn Memorial Pink Ladies, Delta Theta Tau, and Lydia Circle of First Christian Church.

She is survived by her sons, John George of Washington, and Don George of Bedford, Jim George of Florida; grandchildren, Chris George, JD George, Heather Fish-Manning, Bradley Fish, Mandy George-Roberts; great-grandchildren, Gunner George, Gage George, Gideon George, Jackson Roberts, and Mia Roberts; and a special friend Melissa Brewer. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents a son Bob George, and a great-grandson Garrett George.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 3rd, at Day & Carter Mortuary, with Will Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Owensburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Thursday, at Day & Carter Mortuary. Memorial contributions can be made to White River Humane Society.
