Bedford – Gerald Lee Flynn, 87, of Bedford, passed away on Friday, July 3rd, 2026, at Belle’s Place of Bedford.

Born September 3, 1938, in Monroe County, he was the son of Clyde and Leva (Helms) Flynn. Gerald married Rhea Dawn East on December 15, 1956. He was a minister primarily at Rensselaer First Assembly, and recently he was an Elders Pastor at Cornerstone Worship Center in Bedford.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Rhea Dawn Flynn; two children, Rick Flynn of Ellettsville, and Kim (Ron) Stath of Bedford; three grandchildren, Eric (Shayla) Flynn, Amber (Kody) Shipley, Haley Stath; three great-grandchildren, Jaxson Flynn, Emmy Shipley, Raegan Shipley; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, five siblings: Sue Reeves, Patty Hoff, Jerry Flynn, Donna Price, and Jack Flynn.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, July 8th, in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary, with Pastor Rodney Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Clover Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Wednesday, at Day & Carter Mortuary.
