Bedford-Allan Merrill Barrett, 48, of Bedford died on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at his residence.

Born February 28, 1978 in Salem, IN, he was the son of Bill and Connie (Harris) Barrett. He had attended Englewood School. Allan was a member of Mount Pleasant Christian Church, and he loved crafts and country music, especially Alan Jackson.

Survivors include a brother, Mike Barrett of Bedford; two aunts: Beth Grissom and her husband Travis of Mitchell, and Lucinda Dowling of Florida, Carolyn Miller of Corydon, and Barbara Payne of Salem; cousins: Dan Grissom and his wife Alyssa of Bedford, Dennis Dowling of Florida, Hayden and Cole Grissom both of Bedford. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Chris Barrett, maternal grandparents, Herman and Eleanor Harris, paternal grandparents, Gertrude and William Barrett, his uncle, Ron Harris, and his aunt, Nancy Hurst.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 20th, in the Patton Hill Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Huddelson officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until 1:30 pm on Friday, at Day & Carter Mortuary. Family and friends may express condolences at www.daycarter.com.
