Heltonville – John D. Ford, 72, of Heltonville, passed away at 6:35 am on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at I.U. Health Methodist Hospital.
Born July 24, 1953, in Bedford, he was the son of Robert Morris and Josephine (Henderson) Ford. He was a die setter at General Motors, retiring in 2002. He was a life-long farmer.
Survivors include two sons, Clayton Ford and Shane Christenberry (Kristen); grandchildren, Skyler and Josephine Christenberry, Isaak True, and Shaelynn Christenberry; great-granddaughter, Emilee Christenberry; three sisters, Mary B. Smith (Dwight), Polly Prince (Kenny), and Julia Hensley (Mark); several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his long-time companion, Sharlene Christenberry, and a brother, Morris Ford and wife, Sharon.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 4th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Gilgal Cemetery.
