Bedford – Lana Jean Meadows, 71, of Bedford, passed away at 2:45 am on Monday August 11, 2025, at I.U. Health Bedford Hospital.

Born November 1, 1953, in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Horace and Mildred (Cracraft) Meadows. She was a graduate of Bedford High School and earned a master’s degree in art from Indiana University. She was an instructional designer for American Express and attended Sherwood Oaks in Bloomington.

Survivors include a brother, Jack Meadows, of Bedford; four nieces, Mellonie Meadows Kern and husband, Dave, Michelle Meadows Root and husband, Darren, Amy Meadows Jeffries and husband, Jon, and Melissa Bartlett-Day and husband, Mark. She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents and a sister, Martha Bartlett; a sister-in-law, Becky Meadows; brother-in-law, Dwight Bartlett.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 14th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Dave Ferry officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadows Family Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Thursday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
