Oolitic - Wilma Jean Reuter of Oolitic was born to Winford and Bertha (Blackwell) Bartlett on October 16, 1932, in Bartlettsville. She married Charles Dean Reuter on January 1, 1953, and he passed away on August 19, 2002, less than five months shy of their fiftieth anniversary.

Jeanie had three brothers, Dwight Bartlett, Opal Bartlett, Virgal Tickie Bartlett (deceased), and three sisters, Peggy Ritter, Doris Irene Bartlett (deceased), and Velma Chambers, also of Oolitic.

Dean and Jeanie had two children, Susan Lynn Blythe and Dennis of Oolitic and Denny Dean Reuter and Tammy of Bedford. Susan and Denny were devoted to their mother as loyal companions and friends. Jeanie treated her son- and daughter-in-law as equals to her own children, and Dennis and Tammy cared for her as their own mother.

Jeanie is the grandmother of four children who were all her favorites: Michelle (Gary) Spear of Mitchell; Kortni (Matthew) Canada and Christie (Lance) Judah of Bedford; and Jared (Meghan Herald) Reuter of Bloomfield. She is also great grandmother to nine great-grandchildren: Collin, Elsa and Judah Spear of Mitchell; Owen, Oaklee, Willow and Milo Canada of Bedford, Garrett Chaillaux, also of Bedford, and Marlee Maze of Bloomfield; several nieces and nephews.

Jeanie kept Dean’s Bible close in her later years. She is our example of faithfulness, joy through hard times, and love that has no boundaries. She taught us to laugh, and to keep going.

She was too wonderful to be limited by the life of her physical body. Her spirit endures past her time on earth. None of her family members can envision what a world without her would be like, so we each carry her forward in our own lives.

Funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 12th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Jimmy Johnson and Pastor Joe McAdams officiating. Burial will follow in Dive Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, August 11th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Family and friends may express condolences at www.daycarter.com.
