Shirley Maxine Ellison Obituary

Bedford – Shirley Maxine Ellison, 87, of Bedford, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025, at her residence.


Born March 14, 1938, in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Charles and Gladys (Egen) Pierce. She had been a factory worker for Travelers, M. Fine & Sons, RCA, and Ford.


Survivors include a son, Paul Eugene Tolbert, of Mitchell; two daughters, Teresa Terrell, of Mitchell and Tammy Pridemore, of WI; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Ronnie Pierce and wife, Becky, of Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Kathy Burbink.


Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 2nd in the Mitchell Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm on Wednesday at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Family and friends may express condolences at www.daycarter.com.
