Greenwood – Barry Keith New, 77, of Greenwood, passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Community Hospital South.

Born August 14, 1947, in Bedford, he was the son of Charles Robert “Bobby” and Elizabeth (Hollars) New. He married Mary Lou Mills on June 19, 1970, and she survives. He retired as an assembly line worker at G.E. after thirty years and was an Army Reserve veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou, of Greenwood; a son, Brandon Keith New and wife, Cybil, of Greenwood; a grandson, Isaac Keith New, of Greenwood, and a sister, Rita Beth Barnes, and husband, Dean, of Oolitic. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Robert Dax New (in infancy).

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 8th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Reggie Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
