Obituary of Clarence Hall

Bedford – Clarence Hall, 103, of Bedford, passed away at 10:58 pm on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Autumn Trace in Bedford. Born October 18, 1921, in Bedford, he was the son of William Arthur and Emma Belle (Schofield) Hall. He married Dorothy Ilene McBride on June 22, 1942, and she preceded him in death. He was a veteran of WW II, serving as an airplane mechanic with the Army Air Corps. He retired from General Motors after 30 years and was a home-builder for 20 years. Known as the flower man of Mt. Pleasant Road, he had a life-long love of flowers, especially Irises. He was a true craftsman in building and remodeling. He was a member of the Dive Christian Church where he served as an elder and he was very involved with the buildings and maintenance at the church. Survivors include three daughters, Mary Faith Enyart (Dr. David), of Sevierville, TN, Janet Peach, of Owensville, IN, and Susan Craig (Gary), of Bedford; 10 grandchildren, Christy Boggs (Michael), Crystal Reid (David), J.V. Roberts (Amy), Philip Roberts, Shane Roberts, Daniel Craig (Katrina), Amber Craig, Justin Craig (Bridget), Adam Parsley (Becky). Amy McFarland (James); 27 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren, the last great-great granddaughter was born at 6:30 am on the day he died. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a great-grandson, Brady Morrow, Lance Corporal, U.S. Marines, and 11 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 14th at Dive Christian Church with Dr. David Enyart and Pastor Joe McAdams officiating. Military rites will be accorded by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion. Burial will follow in the Dive Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dive Christian Church grounds and maintenance fund.
