Bedford – Robert A. Halstead, 81, of Bedford, passed away at 4:09 pm on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at I.U. Health Bedford Hospital.

Born November 21, 1943, in Monroe Co., he was the son of Bert Halstead and Lena (Johnson) Ray. He married Kathy Prince on November 21, 1987, and she survives. He was a department manager for Kroger and a plasma cutter at Bruner Engineering. He was a member of the Donica Church of God.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy, of Bedford; six children, Anita Riley, of Columbus, Robert (Susan) Halstead, of Columbus, Brandon (Tabitha) Halstead, of Columbus, Troy Carter, of Heltonville, Kristina (Jerry) McIntire, of Greene Co, Tami Carter, of Bloomington, his twin brother, Bud Halstead, of Bedford; ; a sister, Beverly Summit, of Stinesville, IN; 17 grandchildren, Sean Halstead, Megan Parsley, Anna Halstead, Allison Halstead, Amber Halstead, John Robertson, Lindsey Riley, Michael Riley, Bradley Carter, Brittany Carter, Jeremy McIntire, Athina Harper, Joshua McIntire, Jerrod McIntire, Kalynn Carter, Kaleb Carter, and Kaleigh Carter; 31 great-grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Monte Williams, George Williams, Lester Halstead, Violet Williams, Jack Halstead, Betty Grimes, Jerry Halstead, and Patty Halstead.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 14th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Jason Walsh officiating. Burial will follow in Hanson Cemetery.
