Obituary of Debra LaVone Jurashen

Bedford – Debra LaVone Jurashen, 73, of Bedford, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. Born October 20, 1951, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Delbert and Wilma Violet (Stevens) Henson. She married Robert M. Jurashen on December 23, 1983, and he survives. She was a graduate of Bedford High School. She was a self-employed truck driver, owner/operator for 43 years working many years alongside her husband, Bob. Survivors include her husband, Bob, of Bedford; a son, Steve Bex, of Bedford; two grandchildren, Chyote and Shamen Bex; four great-grandchildren, Thomas, Hunter, Eli and Piper; three sisters, Darlene Bailey and Bonnie Henson, both of Mitchell, and Vicky Larkin, of Akron, OH; three brothers, Ron Henson, Gene Henson, and Delbert Henson, Jr., all of Bedford; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, Ulysses and Dessie Henson; a brother, Gary Henson; a daughter-in-law, Jennifer Bex My Mamaw was a God-fearing woman, steadfast in her faith, and unwavering in her love for her family. She was a woman of deep faith, endless generosity, and quiet strength. Though she is no longer physically with us, the lessons she taught, the love she gave, and the memories she created will live on forever. She showed us what it means to love unconditionally, to welcome without hesitation, and to find joy in the simple moments. Mamaw, your light still shines. Your love still surrounds us. And we know, without a doubt, that you are resting in the arms of the God you so faithfully served. Until we meet again. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 12th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Greg Eads officiating. Burial will follow in Springville Cemetery West.
