Obituary of Ryan Flynn

Springville – Ryan W. Flynn, 45, of Springville, passed away at 6:47 am on Monday morning, March 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Above all, Ryan loved spending time with his family. Going on vacation to the Smoky Mountains and the beach. He loved teaching his boys how to use tools, fish, go on hunts with their coon dogs, find mushrooms, deer and anything to spend time with them. Ryan enjoyed playing music, singing, listening to music and knew how to play the guitar, drums, banjo, and saxophone. He enjoyed going to antique stores, auctions, gardening, grilling out, going to races and hanging out with his wife. Going fishing and mushroom hunting with his dad, playing Bingo with his mom. He loved pool tournaments at his in-laws house. Born March 10, 1979, in Vincennes, son of Carl and Debora (Case) Flynn. He married Jessica Phillips Flynn on December 21, 2002, and she survives. Ryan graduated from Bedford North Lawrence High School in 1997, received an Associates degree from Vincennes University and a Batchelors degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. He was an employee at Simtra Biopharma, formerly Baxter Pharmaceutical Solutions for 23 years. Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Jessica; his three sons, William Flynn (Hally Staggs), Elijah Flynn (Ava Woods), and Ian Flynn; his parents, Carl and Debora Flynn; his maternal grandmother, Carolyn Case; father and mother-in-law, Mark and Sharon Phillips; three brothers-in-law, John (Brandi) Phillips, Justin (Amanda) Phillips and Matthew(Audie) Phillips; a cousin who he felt was like a brother, Brandon Evans; a sister, Beth Flynn Dent; several cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William and Kay Flynn, his maternal grandfather, George Case; a brother-in-law, Mark Phillips, Jr. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, March 7th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Marty Speer officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 6th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
