Obituary of Rita Randolph
Rita Randolph passed away peacefully and surrounded by the love of her family on February 8, 2025, at the age of 78. Rita was born on December 12, 1946, in Bedford, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Clark, and her mother, Helen Clark. Rita is lovingly remembered by her siblings: Chet Hall (Nancy) of Bedford and Hillard Lewis (Carol) of Bedford, her devoted children: Donny Wright (Rona) of Bedford and Robyn Massette of Bloomington, her adored grandchildren: Danielle Hitchcock (Dustin Maddox) of Bedford, D.J. Wright (Caycee) of Bedford, and Carlie Nunes (Aaron) of Houston, Texas, and her precious great-grandchildren: Brynleigh and Braelynn Hitchcock of Bedford and Gavin, Zoie, and Paytin Wright of Bedford.
Rita’s life was marked by both love and loss. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Wright, whom she married on December 16, 1962, and her second husband, Larry Randolph, whom she married on November 4, 1967. Despite the challenges, Rita remained a constant source of strength, love, and warmth to her family.
Throughout her 30-year career at Hoosier Hills Credit Union, Rita built lasting friendships and was known for her unwavering kindness. She treasured her Saturday nights spent with close friends at Hobby’s. She earned a reputation as an exceptional poker player. Her fondest memories were watching her children and grandchildren thrive in sports, a testament to her deep love for her family. Rita also attended Calvary Baptist Church, where she found peace and joy in the community. Her radiant smile, striking blue eyes, and her ever-present kindness will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 14 from 4pm to 8pm at Day & Carter Mortuary. The funeral will be on Saturday, February 15 beginning at 10 am for visitation with the funeral service at 11am at Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial to follow at Cresthaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Bedford North Lawrence Scholarship Foundation/Timothy Richard Lewis Memorial Scholarship.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at Southern Care Hospice, particularly Liz and Desirae who not only provided exceptional care but became cherished friends and part of the family during Rita’s final years.
Rita’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May her soul rest in eternal peace. Family and friends may express condolences at www.daycarter.com.
