Bedford – Judy Marlene Turner, 80, of Bedford, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025, at I.U. Health Bedford Hospital.

Born August 25, 1944, in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Paul and Mary Elizabeth (Nethery) Turner. She was a graduate of Needmore High School with the class of 1962, Indiana University in 1967 and earned her master’s degree in 1971. She taught English at the middle and high school levels at Salem and Fayetteville Schools. She retired after working 33 years with the State of Indiana Family and Social Services. She was a member of the Dive Christian Church and enjoyed reading and genealogy.

Survivors include two nephews, Michael (Lisa) Turner, of Bedford and William (Carol) Turner, of Washington; five nieces, Jean Turner and Janet Fabris, both of Bloomington, Paula Fraley, of Starke, FL, Patty (Doug) Chastain and Polly Shields, both of Bedford; several great-nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Anna and Ruth Turner. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, James, William, and Archie Turner, and two great-nephews, Ben Nobles and Ashley Turner.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, February 14th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Joe McAdams officiating. Burial will follow in the Clear Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 13th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
