Obituary of Lewis G. Lytton

Bedford Lewis G. (Jerry) Lytton, 88, of 2003 6th Street, Bedford, died at 10:45 pm on Thursday, September 18, 2003 at Westview Manor Nursing and Rehab. Center in Bedford. Born March 29, 1915 in Mitchell, Indiana, he was the son of Jordan Volney and Pearl Lytton. He married Mary J. Henderson on July 16, 1936 and she survives. He was co-owner of the Toggery with his brother in law, Lovell L. Harp. Later he was co-owner of Colonial Securities. In early life he was a sign designer in Mitchell and Cincinnati. He was a member of the Hillcrest Christian Church. And a life member of the Bedford Lodge #14 F & AM, life member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, past President of the Lawrence County Scottish Rite Club, life member of the American Legion Gillen Post #33 and a Veteran of W.W. II serving in the Navy. He was a Naval Aviator instructing pilots at Bunker Hill and Norman, Oklahoma. He also instructed pilot trainees from England. He was a member of the Mens Club at Otis Park where he was a very avid golfer. Surviving with his wife are two sons: Jeffery J. Lytton and his wife, Bernie of Bedford and L. Bradley Lytton and his wife, Hope of Peachtree City, GA, three grandchildren: Jeffery S. Lytton of Bedford, Jonathon J. Lytton and his wife, Cale of Ellettsville, IN, Jordan H. Lytton of Peachtree, GA., three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister: Vera in infancy. Funeral Information Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 22nd in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Gary Cornwell officiating. Burial will follow in Mitchell Cemetery where Military Rites will be conducted by the American Legion Gillen Post #33. Friends may call at Day & Carter on Sunday, September 21st from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. where Masonic Rites will be conducted on Sunday at 7:00 P.M. by Bedford Lodge #14 F & AM Donations Information The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the charity of their choice.
