Obituary of Wayne Edward Raines

Denver – Wayne Edward Raines, 80, of Denver Colorado, formerly of Bedford, passed away in California on January 28^th.

Born January 25, 1938 in Bedford, he was the son of Joe Raines and Pearl Mae (Clements) Raines. He married Patricia Jean “Patty” Fender on October 21, 1959 and she survives. He was a graduate of Bedford High School, class of 1958 and was a Machinist and Inspector for Martin-Lockheed in Denver, CO and Sunnyvale, CA. He was a member of the Park Victoria Baptist Church in San Jose and the Baptist Church in Denver.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia of Sacramento, CA; three sons, Timothy Raines (Debbie) of Sacramento, CA, Rodney Raines (Glenda) of Manteca, CA, Joshua Raines (Angie) of Vista, CA; seven grandchildren, Josie, Wesley, Kimmy, Juliana, Chandler, Daniel, Alicia Raines; a sister, Doris Early of Orlando, FL; one brother, Doyle Raines of Crawfordsville, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Geraldine and Connie Sue; two brothers, Robert Dale Raines and Joe Raines, Jr.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 3, 2018 in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Leatherwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 until the hour of service on Saturday. Family and friends may express condolences at www.daycarter.com.
