Obituary of Norma J. Lawhead

Bedford – Norma J. Lawhead, 88, of Bedford, died at 2:55 am on Monday, August 21, 2017 at I.U. Health Bedford Hospital.

Born February 26, 1929 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Floyd Homer and Sylvia Floean (Bartlett) Allen. She married Noble Norman on May 25, 1947 and he preceded her in death on February 20, 1990. She later married Charles Lawhead on February 12, 1996 and he preceded her in death on April 14, 2010. She was a homemaker, a member of Bartlettsville Christian Church, and attended Ramsey Ridge Church. She had volunteered at Dunn Hospital, published a book about old barns, and enjoyed oil painting.

Survivors include two daughters, Paula Martin and husband, Robert, Judith Ann Stipp and husband, Bill, all of Heltonville; two sons, Ronald Norman and wife, Pamela, of Mitchell, Donald Norman and wife, Julie, of Heltonville/Bedford; nine grandchildren, Greg (Jeanette) Martin, Holly Martin, Andrew (Bobbi) Stipp, Matthew (Heather) Norman, Adam Norman, Jamie Russell, Ashley (Danyal) Norman, Travis (Samantha) Norman, Chanelle Norman; sixteen great grandchildren, Courtney (Matt) Tomey, Brooke Martin, Amy Martin, John Stipp, Matt Evans, Michael Evans, Madison Norman, Avery Norman, Laura Norman, Jeremiah, Joshua, Abby Russell, Emorie Russell, Ana Nateghi, Juliet Nateghi, Cyrus Nateghi . She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, three brothers, Floyd Allen, Jr., Charles Wendell Allen, and Warren Dale Allen (stillborn); a sister, Barbara Fitzgerald.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 24th in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Bartlettsville Christian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, August 23rd at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Family and friends may express condolences at www.daycarter.com.
