Obituary of Clifton Stancombe

Bedford- Clifton “Moe” Stancombe, 62, of Bedford, went home to be with the Lord at 4:30 am on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Bell Trace Health and Living in Bloomington.

Born December 26, 1954 in Bedford, he was the son of Buddy Lee Stancombe and Oleta (Brown) McCart. He married Donette Wever on January 10, 1975 and she survives.  He retired from General Motors as a Die Setter after twenty- six years.  Moe was an Army Veteran.  He was also a member of the UAW Local #440, former member of the Masonic Lodge, and attended the Bedford Free Methodist Church.  He loved to watch sports, especially basketball.  Moe played basketball for Tunnelton High School.  He also loved the outdoors.

Survivors include his mother, Oleta McCart of Bedford; wife, Donette Stancombe of Bedford; one daughter, Jessica Stancombe of Bedford; two brothers, Steve Stancombe and wife Nancy of Bedford, and Greg Stancombe and wife Julie of Bedford; one sister, Laura Ragone and husband Mike of Pensacola, FL; aunts and uncles, Jerry Brown and wife Cathy, Connie Scott and husband Joe, Delpha Brown, Danny Brown,  and Terry Brown and wife Sylvia; his beloved nieces, Joslyn Wever, Lainey Stancombe, Ashlyn Wever, Jennifer McLeod, Natalie Cotton, Taylor Mollet, Alexis Mollet, and Nicole Ragone; his beloved nephews, Scotty Mollet and wife, Lori, Kane Wever, Eli Mollet, Trey Mollet, Travis Ragone, Darren Stancombe, Daniel Stancombe, Derek Stancombe, Jared Stancombe, Tyler Stancombe and companion, Hailey, Jayden Arnold, Paul Stancombe, Eli Stancombe, and Ethan Stancombe; Father and mother-in-law, Don and Mary Wevertwo brother -in-laws , Josh Wever and wife Mandy, and Jason Wever; one sister-in-law, Kelly Mollet.  He was preceded in death by his father, Buddy Lee Stancombe; uncles, Frank Brown, Donny Brown and Bob Stancombe; one aunt, Loretta (Sis) Garrett;  step-father’s, Dale McCart and Merlin Baker, and a great niece, Halli Ann Wever.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 21st from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Ronnie McLain and Pastor Don Myers officiating.  Burial will follow in Leesville Cemetery with military rites conducted by the American Legion Gillen Post #33. Pallbearers will be Eli, Trey, Kane, Darren, Jayden, and Eli.  Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, June 20th at the Day & Carter Mortuary, and from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Wednesday.
