Obituary of George T. Brown

Bedford – George T. Brown, 95, of Bedford, died at 7:30 am on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at White River Lodge in Bedford.

Born July 7, 1921 in Hart Co., KY, he was the son of Elmo Brown and Lonely (Wilcox) Brown Redford. He married Frances C. Woodward on September 7, 1940 and she preceded him in death on July 1, 2008. He was a farmer and a janitor for Bell Telephone. He was a member of the Second Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, was a member of the choir and the Brotherhood.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Rowlett and husband, James, of Munfordville, KY, Phyllis R. Wagers and husband, Forrester, of Bedford; four sons, William T. Brown and wife, Sharon, of Bloomington, Edward L. Brown, Clarence H. Brown and wife, Darlene, all of Bedford, Rick Brown and wife, Tammy, of Mitchell; nineteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; a sister, Florence Brown Bradley, of Munfordville, KY; a brother, Bub Brown, of Louisville, KY; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two daughters, Georgenia Curry and Lorrione Brown; a daughter-in-law, Marsha; three brothers, Winford Brown, William James Brown and Willy Robert Brown; three sisters, Edna Brashear, Mattie Thornton and Maryetta Waller.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Monday, June 12th at the Brooks Funeral Home in Munfordville, KY. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, June 10th at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 9:00 am until the hour of service on Monday, June 12th at the Brooks Funeral Home.
