Obituary of Kathryn Marie Watson

Mitchell – Kathryn “Kathy” Marie Watson, 66, of Mitchell, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2017. Born January 28, 1951, in Bedford, she was the daughter of State Police Officer, Robert “Bob” C. Gillespie and Naomi M. (Pierce) Gillespie. On August 31, 1978, she married David Paul Watson of Mitchell, Indiana. Apart from working at CVS in Mitchell, she was a musician and an entrepreneur who loved to cook, read and spend time with her family. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Bedford. Survivors include her husband, David Watson, of Mitchell; three sons, David Watson, Jr., and Michael Watson, both of Solsberry, and Paul Gillespie, of Mitchell; three grandsons, Nathan Watson, of Oolitic, David Watson, III and Matthew King, both of Mitchell; seven granddaughters, Summer Watson, of Edinburgh, Ariel Watson, of Bloomington, Abby Hepner, of Solsberry, Raynan Gillespie, of Greencastle, Kyla Gillespie, of Bedford, Samantha Gillespie, and Bella Hawkins, both of Mitchell; a sister, Cindy Ferrell, of Bedford; four brothers, Bruce Gillespie, of Evansville, Dennis Gillespie, Mark Gillespie and Scott Gillespie, all of Bedford; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Naomi Gillespie, and one granddaughter, Andey Watson. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 15th at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, March 14th at the Day & Carter Mortuary, where a rosary service will be conducted at 7:30 pm. The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the Robert C.
