Obituary of Joe Ritchison

Bedford – Darrell (Joe) Ritchison, 64, of Bedford, died at 8:06 am on Friday, February 10, 2017 at I.U. Health Bedford Hospital. Born June 6, 1952, in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Roy and Norma (Bridges) Ritchison. He married Kathy Jackson on June 25, 1993 and she survives. He retired from General Motors after thirty-four years as a tool and die maker. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #33 and a wonderful husband, father and papaw. He was loved by many. Survivors include his wife, Kathy, of Bedford; a daughter, Jodi Ritchison Wright; two sons, Bryce Mann and wife, Stacey, and Landon Lindley and wife, Amy; grandchildren, Zackary, Lucas and Lily Wright, Zoe, Mason, Ashtyn and Jaxtyn Mann, Daven, Nicholas and June Ann Lindley; a brother, Stan Ritchison and wife, Sandy; a sister, Debbie (Ritchison) Martin; nieces and nephews, Shelly Allen, Kimbery Torres, Stanley Ritchison, II, Jeffrey Perry, Dustin Perry and Joshua Britt. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Roger Wayne Ritchison and a sister, Juila Rose (Ritchison) Gorrell. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 13th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Father Rick Eldred and Deacon Dave Reising officiating. Burial will follow in Proctor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Monday, February 13th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
