Obituary of Frank L. Tanksley

Bedford – Frank L. Tanksley, 65, of Bedford, died at 6:00 am on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at his residence. Born February 7, 1950 in Bedford, he was the son of Kenneth and Madeline (Neal) Tanksley. He retired from General Motors as a millwright. He was a member of Iron Workers Union and U.A.W. Local #440 where he served as a committeeman for ten years. Survivors include three daughters, Shannon Barger and fiancé, Eric Barnett, of Bloomington, Carlen Guthrie and husband, Sam, of Bedford and Susan Everett and husband, Jayden, of Terre Haute; nine grandchildren, Tanner Thimling and wife, Emily, Evan Thoms, Jacob Ryan, Coda Barger, Grace Guthrie, Linkin Guthrie, Charli Kate Guthrie, Vera Jade Everett and Isabella Jean Guthrie; a granddog, Miles Everett; two sisters, Priscilla Stevens, of Bedford and Sue Inman, of Martinsville; a sister-in-law, Jacque Tanksley of Bedford; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, James Neal Tanksley and Bill Tanksley. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 25th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Roland Holtsclaw officiating. Burial will follow in the Mitchell Cemetery.
