Obituary of Eva Darlene Hays

Bedford – Eva D. “Maw” (Stines) Hays, 70, of Bedford, entered into eternity at 12:31 am on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital. Born December 30, 1944 in Oak Ridge, TN, she was the daughter of Herschel and Dorothy (Stogdill) Stines. She married Kenneth D. Hays on March 1, 1963 and he survives. She was the owner of Maw’s Daycare and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved quilting, photography, tending her flower beds and children. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth, of Bedford; three sons, Kirk Dean Hays and wife, Melissa, Everett Herschel Hays and wife, Crystal and Kenneth Duane Hays and wife, Melanie, all of Bedford; two daughters, Barbara Denise Staker and husband, Mike, of Hanover, Violet Reynolds and husband, Albert, of Bedford; sixteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; four brothers, Paul Stines and wife, Jean, Herschel “Bucky” Stines and wife, Louise, all of Bedford, Charles Stines of Taylorsville and David Stines of Bloomington; two sisters, Edith Tolliver and husband, Wayne, of Bedford and Ellen Taylor and husband, Jimmy, of Bloomington; a sister-in-law, Wanda Stines. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Glenn, Ralph and Russell Stines; a sister, Clara Stines (in infancy); two sisters-in-law, June and Alice Stines. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 pm on Saturday, April 25th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Bedford with Mike Horn presiding. Burial will follow in the Clear Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, April 24th at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 11:30 am until the hour of service on Saturday, April 25th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
